School:A learning Experience

Dear Journal, Today was pretty rough with school.By the time 1:30 came around,I felt like a burnt outlet.Yikes! These next to years are a critical growing moments in my life right now,as im,for the first time, finishing my last two years of Home High School by myself. If it wasn't for my family, who kept the household running,I would've been able to get these first few months finished. If I had to pick a favorite subject,it would have to be art. It's a way I feel like I can really express myself without having to use words. My favorite thing to draw is mountains, especially in pencil.English is by far the hardest right now, because I'm learning the rules of english and poetry. But the most important subject I've been reading is Civics:The Land of Fairplay. With all the red flag laws, castle laws, retreat laws, and impeachment of trump,it's a pretty good year for Civics. In geography,I've been studying the continents and what they're famous for.

Unique Quotes

I gotta be totally honest, though I don't memorize as many quotes as I should,I really enjoy a good quote! Most of the quotes I'm about to share with you,are from Poor Richards Almanac,so if it doesn't mention who wrote it,it's from Poor Richards Almanac. Here's a few: "Be yourself....Everybody else is taken."-Oscar Wilde. "A good example is the best sermon." "He that cannot obey cannot command." "Glass, china, and reputation are easily broken, and never well mended." "Many a man thinks he is buying pleasure, when he's really selling himself a slave to it." "He that speaks much,is much mistaken." "Be always ashamed to catch thyself idol." "We spend our time, like we spend our money. The only difference is we can save money, but not time.Time waits for no man."Pastor Gerald Krahn. "The journey of a lifetime, starts with a turning of a page."-Rachel A

A whole new life

As some of my readers know,A couple weeks ago,my older brother,Tim was fired from work for a misunderstanding with one of his coworkers. On his birthday. In November.Yikes! It was really tough on Tim.He was really down and disappointed when he got the news. One week later,Tim went to living at home to living with his family. He felt he had been back to square 1.He had been praying and hoping for 2 months for new job.He felt God leading him towards a new job and he has relatives in Colorado and New Mexico,so he was thinking about looking for a job there. When he heard one of his relatives had a small company,so he prayed and felt God lead him towards his decision to apply for a job. When he did,God answered this prayer,so Tim is traveling to Colorado for his new job.He feels really grateful and hopeful of God's future for him.Sad thing is,we won't be able to see Tim till May,and even after that,it's uncertain.I just have to have Faith, and fight the good fight!

The bloody shock!

So,I will warn my readers once more that this short story is a little bloody, and could be traumatic to those under age 13 or 12.Also,this is a fictional story with what could'very happened after The Oregon Trail. So,in a way,Same guy, different name, and WAY different backstory. So,without further adue,I give to you:THE EMOTIONAL SHOCK! To Edward it was just another day traveling back home.He was almost home, but he stopped at the creek to try his chances at gold, even though it was a slim chance it was a chace he was willing to take.Besides, what was the harm in it?The only thing he was risking was his own labor.Or so he told himself. You see,Edward had picked up some bad habits while on the trail. He had betted and betted, gambling what few items in his carriage he had, hoping for a chance to win them back. But he never did. Edward looked at the fleeting sun before sighing and heading back home.He knew it would worry Kaitlin  if he wasn't home before dark. She knew he was coming due to

Decisions

How we see things can effect how we make our decisions. For example,if I believed dying your hair is wrong, then I wouldn't dye my hair, and frown upon those who do.But,you see, there is a doubleside to that coin.In that persons life, they dye it because they think it'll attract attention to themselves.True, our parents decisions and thinking can influence our thinking, but it's our decision whether to listen to it or not. That is the difference. So,my next post (to all my readers who are reading this now.)will be a very, very short story.I will warn my readers, before reading, that it IS bloody, and gory.So no one under 12 or even 13 should be reading it,due to the trauma it may cause.

Christmas in Colorado

So,I was encouraged and reminded again, how really behind I am on posting in this blog, when someone asked to see my promise ring from my last post.So here I go once more. During these last 9+yrs (I can't exactly pinpoint it because it's been so long),since we've lived in Northern MN,it's been at least 15+ years since we've had a Christmas in Colorado with our relatives down south & even LONGER since all of us went together on a family trip!We had a wonderful,MEMORABLE time. There was actually a point where there was alot of teasing, but everyone was really gracious and took it good humorly.By that time I was really getting homesick, and missed my green eyed kitty,Oliver. On the way home,we actually had a small blizzard chasing us all the way back up to MN.When we stopped at a walmart too long,it caught up to us on the last leg of the journey,it made this only a tiny bit dangerous and WAY more exciting!!Needless to say,we almost got snowed in when we got home.Honest

Part 2 to a very special weekend

Image
So,I gotta be honest,it's been almost a month since I posted, and alot has happened since then! So,let me put part 2 to a ver y special weekend.During that sunday,December 14th,2019,we went to church then me and dad skipped off to GrandForks.I really didn't honestly why I was going, but found it odd I was the only one with him.We talked on and off about alot of things, but especially our extended family and our soon to be trip for Chis mad in Colorado.I really enjoyed the time together, though a little wiped out from the ladies Christmas tea the day before. When we got to Grand Forks,we did some shopping, looked around, then hit a local walmart. After about 5:30,dad asked me where I wanted to go to eat,and some where fancy. Now I was REALLY suspicious because we almost never go to somewhere fancy to eat,and rarely, with a family of 7,do I get to pick where to eat. That was neat. So,I really had a hungering for chicken,I don't know why,but I did. So,after a couple options,we f
